Leadershape - Frequently Asked Questions

BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER LEADERSHAPE

Q: What does the OSLS pay for? What do I have to pay?
A: The OSLS will cover your tuition ($1450) and the cost of your coach, roundtrip airfare, roundtrip train or bus fare. If you decide to drive, we will reimburse you for the roundtrip mileage at the current University rate, per mile or $500- whichever is less (when reimbursing for mileage, we will only reimburse you for miles that can be verified by a 3rd party such as MapQuest.com).

Q: What do I have to do when I go to LeaderShape?
A: Be ready for the experience of a lifetime! You'll need to devote all of your time and energy to this experience. You'll need to be willing to give the LeaderShape process a chance and approach the matter with an open mind.

Q: What do I have to do when I return from LeaderShape?
A: When you get back, we'll want to know all about your experience! You'll put together a brief presentation on what you gained from the experience and what your LeaderShape Project is. Periodically, throughout the year, we'll want to see how you are doing as well, therefore a coach will be provided for you to help cultivate your LeaderShape vision and bring it to reality.

I AM GOING TO LEADERSHAPE!

A: A lot actually! First step: create a LeaderShape login for yourself at www.leadershape.org. Also, check here for the packing list, schedule and curriculum!

Q: I want to fly to LeaderShape. How will my travel arrangements be made?
A: The LeaderShape coordinator, Matt Garrett in the Office of Student Leadership & Service, will make arrangements for you. You will meet with him to review all of the details.

Q: What time do I need to arrive on Tuesday?
A: You should plan to arrive at the Allerton Conference Center by 3pm CST. We will work with you to ensure this happens...

Q: What time can I depart on the final day?
A: You should make plans to depart after 2pm on the final day. Again, the OSLS will assist you.
