The Office of Student Leadership & Service is committed to helping students create meaningful co-curricular experiences through leadership education and service-learning opportunities.
Vision:
As advocates for students, we seek to inspire them to reach their potential as engaged scholars, ethical leaders, and responsible citizens.
Outcomes:
We believe students should develop five basic skills to make them effective global leaders and citizens upon graduation:
The ability to Articulate a Vision
The ability to Inspire and Motivate others
The ability to effectively Delegate Authority
The ability to Resolve Conflict
A demonstrated Committment to Service
We believe each of these outcomes can be met through intentionally designed leadership development and service learning opportunities, based on the theoretical foundation of the Social Change Model of Leadership. For more information on this theory, review our Leadership Philosophy.
Goals:
Provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills.
Provide learning and reflective experiences.
Contribute to the intellectual and academic success of students.
Provide recognition opportunities for academic excellence and co-curricular contributions.
Provide opportunities to serve in local communities and communities in need around the country.
Provide support to enhance professional growth and increase skill development for staff.
