Event Planning Assistance
*All underlined statements link to one of our Leadership Lifesavers to Go, a PDF document that will provide you with great guidance as you plan your event!
Before you begin planning any event, you need to think critically about what you hope the outcomes of the event to be and several other driving factors. Including your organization's treasurer from the beginning is critical. Next, tailoring an Event Planning Checklist to fit your needs is a must for anyone planning an event at Emory University. The size of the event really does matter as to how much work and prior planning is required. After determining what size your event is, download our checklist for a large or a medium/small event and tailor/update it to fit your needs. But, no matter how large or small, our professional staff can assist your organization with planning activities and events. Just as important as planning a program is evaluating how the program was executed and examining its success. Our Program Evaluation Form can help save your successors from future headaches. There is other great information you can find in the Eagle Source and you may also want to look at the other Leadership Lifesavers To-Go. It may also be wise to view the Speaker Policy, as well as the Freedom of Expression Policy, as you plan your event.
We have resources to select speakers, artists, entertainment agencies, DJs, comedians, sound companies, local venues, and more! Our staff is also helpful with offering guidance & assistance to student organizations, especially with regard to dispute resolution. Please contact the Office of Student Leadership and Service for assistance.
