Scholarship
The Office of Student Leadership & Service (OSLS) understands that each student comes to Emory with different financial means. We also firmly believe that one’s financial means should not limit the level of access that a student has to opportunities. In light of that, we have made every effort to keep costs at a minimum for the Emerging Leaders Experience. We have also set aside a number of scholarships, for the Emerging Leaders Experience. These scholarships will enable a select number of Emory students to be a part of the Experience, at the reduced cost of $50.
In or der to be considered for an ELE Scholarship, students registering for the Experience must:
- Complete all registration materials, and submit the full $100 registration fee in the form of a check, on or before the registration deadline. You may not register and pay by credit card to be considered for the scholarship.
- Please be sure to check the box on the registration form that states, “Consider me for one of the ELE Scholarships.” We will not cash your check until we have evaluated the scholarhip, and then will work with you to correct the payment.
- Along with the above materials, submit 1 original print out of your financial aid package*, directly from OPUS, in a sealed envelope. The envelope should be labeled with:

- This information can be dropped off at our office, 340E Dobbs University Center, on or before 5:00pm, October 2, 2009. You may also email the material to Matt Garrett at matt.garrett@emory.edu
- All information should be submitted by the registration deadline (listed above). No late submissions, regardless of the circumstances, will be considered

*NOTE: All financial records will be screened by OSLS staff only, in accordance with FERPA guidelines. No students, including L.E.A.D. Team members, will be permitted to see any student’s financial data. Once a final decision has been rendered, and all scholarship decisions finalized, all records will be immediately destroyed by an OSLS staff member.
While we would love to grant scholarships to every student who applies, our funds are very limited. Therefore, we will only be able to grant a small number of scholarships. All scholarship applicants will be notified of their status, via email, by Friday, October 9, 2009. (Scholarship recipients will also be refunded 50% of the registration fee. Those that are not selected for a scholarship have the option of participating, or being fully refunded their registration fee).
