Being a Student Organization Advisor
All student organizations are chartered by the Student Government Association (SGA). The SGA requires that each student organization have an Advisor who is a staff or faculty member of Emory University. The staff or faculty Advisor cannot be employed by, or benefit from the actions of a student organization which he or she advises.
The Office of Student Leadership & Service is here to aid staff and faculty advisors in their work with student organizations.
No matter how long you have been an Advisor, our Advisors Roundtables may be especially beneficial for you. Also, the OSLS produces an Advisors' Manual, which is updated annually.
If you have been contacted because you are listed as an Advisor, and you never agreed to be, or you no longer wish to be a student organization Advisor, please contact the SGA Office at 404.727.6179 or email Laura Rogers Reece at Laura.Reece@emory.edu.
